This page is run via Google Sites. None of the stuff I actually do online is here at www.vollink.com. The reason for that is that I otherwise self-host on my own equipment using dynamic DNS. Welcome to the "past" when self-hosting was normal.
www.home.vollink.com -- Vollink primary web site.
git.home.vollink.com/external -- source code
blog.vollink.com -- stories, tech and thoughts
voll.ink -- vanity short urls (not a service)
I recently moved. It took me almost a month to figure out the magic words to get my internet service provider to unblock port 80 for me. I finally got the magic incantation done, and now I am able to use that magic to get my SSL (https) pages working.
Sadly, my main web server (an 18 year old rack-mount HP DL380 G7) did not survive the move.
Well, it survived, but it won't boot anymore. As such, some of my web sites are still down, and some may never come back. This will be updated as I bring things online.
photos.vollink.com -- This is where I long kept photos for family and friends to check out. Thing is, several things on here had to be secured on request of some of the people who were IN those photos. That had been running on a platform that isn't supported anymore, so this is back-burner.
brinlink.com -- This was our wedding site. It had been "up" but not working very well for a long time. It was initially set up as a self-hosted wordpress, but then I made it static using a scraper, which kept the articles up, but a lot of the formatting got lost. We've been married for 9 years now, I don't think anybody cares about the wedding anymore.
gitlab.home.vollink.com -- I set up Forgejo before the move because gitlab stopped being able to upgrade successfully, nor was I able to get a backup to re-load on a different machine. It was a good run. I'm pretty happy with Forgejo (so far).
www.vollink.nyc -- I am no longer IN New York, so I'm going to let this expire. There wasn't anything important here in any case, at least, nothing I won't be able to move onto my blog or main site pretty easily.
